Key Preventative Techniques

TasVets Animal Health Partners offer a consultative approach with dairy clients, using preventative techniques to improve outcomes for clients, as well as improve farm revenue and profit.  The key preventative techniques are:

  1. Produce animal health plans to achieve best farm practice for the enterprise.
  2. Proactive discussion about upcoming animal health interventions so they can be “planned” to ensure seamless service provision that fits in with the routine operations of the farm.
  3. Optimisation of timeliness, planning and execution to ensure premium animal health becomes ingrained in the culture of the farm.
  4. Training farm staff and owners on disease prevention and the use of preventative products to reduce reliance on prescription medication such as antibiotics.
  5. Regular review of farm practices, including working with clients to improve the performance and profitability of the farming enterprise.
  6. Assist the farm owner to plan for future development of animal and farming practices
